SHORT DESCRIPTION: ERCOT Board approval of Real-Time Market (RTM) Price Corrections

LONG DESCRIPTION: On June 1, 2026, the ERCOT Board of Directors reviewed price corrections regarding a software defect that affected Qualifying Facilities in Security Constrained Economic Dispatch (SCED) on Operating Days (ODs) December 17, 2025, to January 29, 2026. See Market Notice M-A020526-01 for additional details.
The ERCOT Board determined that prices were significantly affected and directed ERCOT to implement the appropriate price corrections pursuant to ERCOT Protocol Section 6.3(7) for the Real-Time Market (RTM) for ODs January 10, 22, 24, 25, and 26, 2026.
ERCOT Board approval of these price corrections necessitates the issuance of RTM Resettlement Statements. A subsequent Market Notice will be posted for the RTM resettlements in accordance with ERCOT Protocol Section 9.5.7.
Background
ERCOT Protocols Section 6.3(7)(b) requires that the absolute value impact to any single Counter-Party meet one of the following two criteria before seeking approval from the Board.
- 2% and also greater than $20,000; or
- 20% and also greater than $2,000.
ERCOT determined that ODs January 10, 22, 24, 25, and 26, 2026 met the criteria for seeking ERCOT Board approval for a price correction. The number of Counter-Parties meeting one of the two criteria for significance are shown in the table below.
