The ERCOT Weather Forecast is developed by ERCOT Meteorologists Chris Coleman, Mia Schroller, Brandon Gale, and Christi Eastham. The interactive map displays today’s temperature information for major cities located within the ERCOT grid. Hover over a city to see the most recent temperature forecast.
Note: A Weather Zone is a geographic region designated by ERCOT in which climatological characteristics are similar for all areas within such region. This map displays the various Weather Zones that exist within the ERCOT footprint, but it does not necessarily include all counties that have participation within the ERCOT market.
General Discussion:
Rain chances increase on Friday as a low-pressure system approaches the state. Spotty showers and thunderstorms across Central, South, West, and East Texas Friday morning will lead in additional rain development by the afternoon across the majority of the ERCOT Region. While severe weather is not expected, pockets of heavy rainfall will be possible within some of this activity. Near-normal to below-normal temperatures are expected as a result, with highs in the 80s for many.
Scattered rain is expected again Saturday at times, with best chances across Central, North, and East Texas. After a few lingering showers and thunderstorms across East Texas on Sunday, rain chances will come down for next week as an upper-level high-pressure system builds into the state. A warming trend is then slated to take shape, with highs returning to the widespread 90s by Monday. Expect temperatures to gradually build a degree or two day over day, with mid-90s and upper 90s not ruled out by the end of the week.
Today:
Generally cloudy. Spotty rain across Central, South, West, and East Texas Friday morning will lead in additional scattered rain for much of the ERCOT Region in the afternoon. Highs in the 80s.
This Weekend:
Another roud of scattered rain is expected Saturday, primarily across Central, North, and East Texas. A few lingering showers and storms are possible along and east of the I-35 corridor on Sunday. Lows in the 60s and 70s. Highs in the 80s on Saturday, transitioning to the upper 80s and low 90s on Sunday.
